Sofias Hair 4 Health

Working with cancer care groups in the New York metropolitan area, Rodolfo Valentin, continues his charitable “Sofia’s Hair 4 health” campaign. RV is providing a customized hair prosthesis from February 2007 through December 2007. The winning hair designer will tailor each wig to complement the winner’s unique features. The bi-monthly wig recipient nominated by friends, family or cancer care specialists must be a New Yorker resident who is fighting cancer and is within the “low-income” bracket. **

“In celebration of our 25^th” year in New York”, said Rodolfo Valentin, who hails from Buenos Aires, “and in loving memory of my dear mother "Sofia", I am happy to help some fellow New Yorkers feel more special. Today more than ever, we have to assist and support each other, and I hope my wig donations will bring some sunshine to some special people”.

Rodolfo made his first custom-made wig for his beloved mother, Sofia, who lost her hair while undergoing chemotherapy treatments. “ My mother was so saddened and frustrated, I just had to do something to help her”, said Rodolfo. She was the inspiration for this first wig creation and his subsequent perfection of prosthetic hairpieces. Now, through the “Sofia’s hair 4 health” campaign, he is helping men and women take one step forward in their walk to wellness.

Friends, family or medical caretakers can nominate a person in need who has suffered hair loss due to cancer treatment.

Nominations must be in by the 1^st of January, March, May, July, September and November 2007

Winner agrees that his/her name and picture will be used and published in the media/press.
Winner must show income tax returns** proving under 30 thousand dollars yearly income and a signed Doctor's note stating that patient is under chemotherapy or radiation treatment and loosing his/her hair. Without meeting all these requirements winner will not be honored. Nominates are chosen randomly.

**Income guidelines determined on individual case-by-case basis. Average top income is $30k/annum but compelling circumstances, family-size, and medical condition will be considered. Value of Rodolfo Valentin wigs range from $300 to $4000 to $5,000.-- Self-nominations will also be accepted.
